Does myth have a deeper meaning? Today, for most people, the word "myth" means something that is not true, a falsity. However, it may just be a different and more symbolic way of looking at the world. Being able to understand and derive hidden esoteric knowledge from myth and metaphor is necessary for a true understanding of ancient esoteric tradition. Rosicrucianism, Hermeticism, and other facets of the Western Mystery Tradition has the concept of nature as a book of wisdom. This is an object of contemplation for the purpose of self-introspection. It may also be considered as a revelation of a first cause. This is certainly a very ancient belief.

Many ancient philosophers took a very deep and allegorical view of myth. This is a perspective which is foreign to the typical, left-brained, modern perspective. As an exercise, we have to be able to shift into the more primitive or ancient paradigm to uncover what the ancients were saying. If, in fact, they both revealed and concealed simultaneously with the tool of myth. Just some thoughts.
