An average afternoon cruise on the road turned into one for the books when this dust devil was spotted on March 8 at Bacchus Marsh in Victoria. This spectacular footage shows the massive dust storm and its vivid colours against the dry Australian landscape.
According to the American Meteorological Society, a dust devil usually occurs on “a hot, calm afternoon with clear skies, in a dry region”.This area of Victoria received no rainfall on the day the footage was captured, making conditions ideal for the phenomenon.
