The 9th European Freeski Open LAAX saw great freeski sport and two new faces on the top of the podium: 14 years young Kelly Sildaru from Estonia and Gus Kenworthy, 24 years, from USA are the slopestyle title winners of this prestigious international AFP contest.
Hundreds of spectators lined the course and whooped the 6 women and 10 men for their final performances. The slopestyle contained six features, starting with a rail-combo followed by “the wave” leading into the 3-kicker-line and ending up in a multiple obstacle, a quarterpipe with optional redirect lip and a flat down rail. Each rider had three runs, best one counted.

European Freeski Open LAAX sahen grossartigen Freeski Sport und zwei neue Gesichter auf dem obersten Podestplatz: Die 14-jährige Kelly Sildaru aus Estland und Gus Kenworthy, 24 Jahre aus USA, sind die Slopestyle Titelträger dieses prestigevollen AFP Contests und reisen mit besten Eindrücken und Preisschecks in Höhe von 5.000 CHF bzw. 10.000 CHF nach Hause.
Hunderte von Zuschauern säumten den Kurs und feuerten die sechs Frauen und zehn Männer bei ihrem Finalauftritt an. Der Slopestyle bestand aus sechs Elementen. Zuerst ging es über eine Rail-Combo, die darauffolgende “Wave” führte in die 3-er Kickerline. Den Abschluss des Parcours bildete ein multiples Feature, eine Quarterpipe mit Redirect Kicker und einem Flat Down Rail. Jeder Rider hatte drei Runs, von denen der beste in die Wertung genommen wurde.
