Trump asks supporters at rally to raise right hand in pledge of loyalty
  • 8 years ago
Donald Trump, the controversial Republican presidential frontrunner, on Saturday asked his supporters at a Florida rally to raise their right hands in a pledge to vote for him, a gesture some found was evocative of the Nazi salute.
"Raise your right hand.
I do solemnly swear that I — no matter how I feel, no matter what the conditions, if there's hurricanes or whatever — will vote, on or before the 12th for Donald J. Trump for president," the bellicose tycoon yelled at the crowd.
As the rally complied, he said "Thank you.
Now I know.
Don’t forget you all raised your hands.
You swore.
Bad things happen if you don’t live up to what you just did."
This is poised to become the latest scandal in a campaign plagued with them, especially when the firebrand billionaire is involved.
