THE SONGS WE SANG traces the germination and flowering of a unique homegrown movement. The documentary is a nostalgic journey through an important chapter of Singapore’s cultural history, as told by the composers and performers who became the voices of their generation. These include key xinyao figures like Liang Wern Fook梁文福, Eric Moo巫启贤, Billy Koh许环良and many more. The film also features Singaporean pop stars like JJ Lin 林俊杰 and Stefanie Sun 孙燕姿 sharing their views on how xinyao paved the way for their emergence.
