He always engages in daily battles with Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz, a mad scientist who desires to take over the Tri-state area with obscure contraptions. In nearly every episode of the series, Dr. Doofenshmirtz has an evil scheme or invention that he explains about through the means of a back story from his youth. .\r
