The secretary bird is a mostly-land-based species of bird that hails from sub-Saharan Africa and kills its prey by kicking them to death.

A certain species of bird can kill snakes with its feet. 
Hailing from sub-Saharan Africa, the secretary bird lives primarily on land. 
The creature itself is quite large and feeds on small mammals and reptiles; using its feet to repeatedly strike its prey to death--or at least to stun them.
