Rinse France and Because Music are two notable outfits leading the way in France's electronic underground music. One a revered radio channel and the other an independent record label, their power when combined is undoubtedly a force to be reckoned with. This month brings news of Piu Piu presents Local Time: a compilation lovingly curated by French-Uruguayan singer, DJ, Rinse France resident and party-starter Piu Piu. Her club nights run via the Girls Girls Girls collective, whose prestigious invitees include Paris' own Betty, Chchchen, Ikonika, Eclair Fifi, Kelela and many more.

Through this custom-built compilation, Piu Piu presents twelve tracks that comprehensively reflect France's electronic music of the moment. From Nathan Melja's high octane beats to 6.5 minutes of ambient bliss from a Francois X-Bambounou collaboration, Piu Piu's got it covered. Our favourite comes in from Simo Cell. With releases already ticked off on Fragil Musique and Livity Sound's offshoot dnuoS ytiviL, Simo is moving in leaps and bounds for a producer still technically fresh enough to classify as a 'newcomer'. Pre-told by its title, "Sequence (Chatter)" is machine-led and highly cyclical, with a drum pattern orbiting around itself while acid motifs and an airy synth float freely in and out. A highlight track off a compilation that certainly shouldn't be slept on.

Catch the compilation dropping soon via Rinse France and Because Music.
