Special Olympics' Dream Team Teaches Us Everyone Is A Winner

The Sound Shore Stars is made up of some of the most spirited and passionate athletes we have ever seen. The Sound Shore Stars is a weekly Special Olympics training program. Comprised of athletes ranging from ages 22-46, the Dream Team trains to be the best they can be. One of these amazing athletes is the brother of one of the student producers of this video, Sara West. Her family has been involved in the Special Olympics for over two decades!
These athletes don’t let their disabilities stop them from trying their best and being great at their favorite sports. This ‘Dream Team’ has become like family; training together and building beautiful friendships. Suzanne Elson, the director of the program says, ‘Try your best and have fun doing it. You are a winner if you have tried your best.”

This video was produced by Sara West, Heidi Clorofilla, Stephen Gruber and Andrew Cobian. These students are part of the PACE University and their Media and Communication Arts, Master’s program. This is each student’s first time producing a film. Great job!
