Joe Fernandez was diagnosed with Autism when he was around four years old and Joe's mother Daisy raised him single handed. As he grows, Joe's world comes to revolve around his mother and they share a very close bond. Daisy teaches Joe that what matters most in life is to hold the hand of the person who makes you happy. Daisy dies of illness and Joe is left all alone and that's when his childhood friend Annie comes forward to hold his hand. She makes him happy and he decides never to let go of her hand. As they grow up, Annie's world expands and she makes new friends and finds love elsewhere. But it is Joe who shows her the meaning of true love as he holds her hand when she is betrayed and needs it the most.
