In the great rooms of an ancient and decaying villa, Anna, disoriented by a sudden bereavement, spends her days alone.
The footsteps of Pietro, the general handyman, are the only things to interrupt the silence. Then Jeanne suddenly arrives. She is the girlfriend of Anna's son, Giuseppe, who invited her to come and spend a few days in Sicily. Anna was not aware of Jeanne's existence and Giuseppe is away. He'll be back soon, very soon... Anna tells Jeanne.
The days go by and the two women slowly get to know each other while they wait together for Easter, when Giuseppe will return for the religious procession.
