SCARBOROUGH, UK — A UK teen girl's fake tan disaster pic has gone viral. Seventeen-year-old Imogen Tyger-Lillie Silversides from the UK town of Scarborough is a very white young woman who's apparently very fond of tanning.

But she wasn't expecting to be left looking like a dining room table after she tried out an idea she read about online. Imogen reportedly read a Facebook post that claimed the best way to get an even fake tan is by using a paint roller.

Facebooker Amy Ridler reportedly recommended using the roller, saying it provided excellent faux-tan results.

So Ms Silversides popped over to the shop and got a paint roller. The roller did actually give her a pretty even fake tan, that resembled a lacquer furniture finish.

The teen posted the tragic results of her "roller tan" experiment and tens of thousands shared the amusingly disturbing photo. she is now doing the rounds of television and radio and post on Facebook that she finds the entire episode and the reaction to it bemusing.

It's unknown why the teenager continued to apply the tanning solution even after it must've been obviously clear that it was a bad idea, perhaps the entire story is a prank … or maybe this young individual just really isn't that bright.
