Stephen Hawking: Black Holes Could Supply World’s Power
  • 8 years ago
Stephen Hawking recently revealed in a lecture on BBC Radio 4 that a relatively small black hole about the size of a mountain could emit enough energy to supply power for the entire world.

Famed physicist Stephen Hawking has put forth the argument for an unlikely power source.

During a live lecture he gave recently on BBC Radio 4, he stated, “A mountain-sized black hole would give off X-rays and gamma rays, at a rate of about 10 million megawatts, enough to power the world's electricity supply.”

Then he added, “It wouldn't be easy however, to harness a mini
