An assistant curator at the University of Reading was perusing the Museum of English Rural Life’s collection when she noticed a deceased mouse in the iron-barred, wooden box.
The creature did not appear to have been in there for an incredibly long time, nor was it likely in search of a nibble as the trap wasn’t baited.
