Baton Ramasse - Side-Stepping On Steep Slopes | Backcountry...
Confronted by a tricky piece of terrain that you need to manoeuvre through carefully? Baton Ramasse is a technique worth getting to grips with. Joe guides you through the do's and don't's of this technique to give you more security when skiing on steeper slopes. This French technique is useful when you don't have immediate access to your ice axe. Instead ski poles are used to help stabilise you through hard, narrow and/or rocky terrain.
