Footage of a British Airways 747 making an emergency landing at Heathrow Airport, London, on Saturday after experiencing issues with its landing gear.

The video, filmed by a passenger in a moving car, shows the plane making its final approach towards the runway.

The BA flight was reportedly two hours into its journey from London to Chicago when the pilot noticed parts of the landing gear were malfunctioning. The aircraft was forced to turn around and dump fuel in order to successfully make the emergency landing.

The filmer, also an aircraft enthusiast, later wrote online: "It was clear what the problem was; the main port and starboard wheels hadn't actually come down so the Boeing 747 Jumbo was forced to make an emergency landing on three sets of wheels as opposed to the normal five.

"Nonetheless, the crew did a remarkable job and landed safely on runway 27R."
