After Wesley is almost eaten by a pair of hungry crows, Ugly goes to the Mayor with the terrifying news that the yard’s corn supplies are in danger. When Esmeralda and Peep refuse to heed his warnings, Ugly’s threat to tell the rest of the yard inhabitants about the crows’ imminent attack leads the Mayor to reluctantly reveal the mysterious “yard secret”. According to Esmeralda and Peep, Ugly’s “unusual” face has been keeping the yard free from attack ever since he and Ratso arrived in their new home – he’s basically tan unwitting yard scarecrow! But when Ratso secretly attempts to dig his way out of the yard to go to a rock concert while Ugly confidently patrols for crows, a twist in the yard secret is revealed…
