Miami teen fools the internet with viral tweet about stealing Burger King restaurant's chicken nuggets

MIAMI — Eighteen-year-old John Correa, who goes by the handle Zealot on Twitter, went viral for supposedly quitting his job at Burger King and stealing the store's entire chicken nugget supply. At least that's what everyone believed.

As it turns out, Correa, who's been working at a Burger King in Miami, was told by his manager to pick up extra chicken nuggets at another store, according to Local 10 News.

Seeing an opportunity for fun, and supposedly to also prove a point, he snapped a photo of the nuggets in his passenger seat and concocted an amusing story.

He tweeted the photo along with a caption, and immediately everyone went nuts. The internet gave him a giant virtual pat on the back and called him a hero.

After more than 23,000 retweets, the teen was shocked to learn that even television stations and news outlets got in on the action, reporting on his internet fame based on just that one tweet.

Had anyone bothered to check facts, they'd have found out that Correa was still working at his local Burger King, where he and his co-workers had a laugh over the nugget saga.

The Braddock High School senior has since taken down all of his tweets, replacing them with one short message that effectively ended his short-lived stardom: "It is done."
