Lewd raccoons make babies in public — and here's the video
  • 8 years ago
NORTHRIDGE, CALIFORNIA — Mating season has officially begun, as these two raccoons, caught on video in a compromising position outside a Northridge, California home, can attest.

Raccoons are nocturnal, mostly foraging and feeding at night according to PBS. And as with most important activities, it seems they breed at night too.

Female raccoons are known to den with males during the mating months, but revert back to being solitary once they've successfully bred, and remain so until after their young are born. The males have no part in the raising of the young raccoons, called kits, who stay with their mother until they're about 13 to 14 months old.

With mating season falling between January and June, it's safe to say there should be more sightings of 'coon lovin' all around the country.
