It’s loud, yellow and absolutely colossal. This is the Hennessey VelociRaptor. It’s pretty powerful too, at 623bhp, and a certain tame racing driver wouldn’t let it leave the Top Gear studio before grabbing the keys for one hot, and occasionally sideways, lap around the TG track.

We think he was going for fun rather than speed in this one, so we didn’t time it (and note, this is only footage of the lap, so it’s not indicative of the time, one and all). Anyway, here's what happened when Stig wrestled the big yellow behemoth around a very wet Dunsfold…
