Defence & Diplomacy: Impact of lifting sanctions off Iran

Iran has completed the necessary steps in a deal to restrict its nuclear program, meaning international economic sanctions are lifted. This has brought Iran into a new phase of its relationship with the west as its frozen accounts in international banks as well as embargo on its oil and gas trade has been lifted.
Iranian leaders have displayed a sanguine but careful approach.
Israel and Iran's Arab neighbours on the other hand are having concerns regarding the lifting of the sanctions. Israel thinks that Iran has got a temporary reprieve and will develop nuclear weapons after fifteen years.
The Arabs suspect that a vibrant and more economically robust Iran will support the Houthis in Yemen and Shia factions in Syria and Lebanon.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and President Xi Jinping's efforts to reduce tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia was also discussed while the progress made at the quadrilateral group's meeting in Kabul was also touched upon.
