Having fulfilled his role as an employee, there was no reason not to get on with it. Known to be an avid athlete up to 2011 (the year of the fake shooting), the path he chose after that should not come as a surprise.

The government run media did very little investigation into the real background of Giffords - nor did any of them seriously investigate the veracity of her "bullet wound" story.
