Steelers salary cap: Heath Miller might be casualty in 2016

Business is business in the NFL, but there’s just something about waving goodbye to the fan favorites.
In Pittsburgh, there is no bigger fan favorite than TE Heath Miller.
Miller, a pillar of the Steelers offense since 2004, he seen the Steelers grow from a defensive powerhouse to an offensive juggernaut, all the while just doing his job; blocking, catching the ball occasionally and, of course, more blocking.
Certainly, it would be strange to picture the Pittsburgh Steelers without Heath Miller.

Currently, the Pittsburgh Steelers sit a little over $10 million over the cap with 42 players under contract.
That’s not awesome, but it’s not bad, either.
The bad part is the fact that Pittsburgh could lose its entire secondary, its starting nose tackle, two of its starting offensive linemen, and its fullback to free agency.
