NASA and NOAA agree that 2015 was the hottest year on record
  • 8 years ago
HOUSTON — NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) say 2015 was the hottest year ever, since global temperatures were first recorded in 1880.

Planet Earth has broken that record 15 out of the last 16 years. Last December alone was the first time in recorded history that the temperature was two degrees Fahrenheit above the average.

Goddard Institute for Space Studies Director Gavin Schmidt said, "2015 was remarkable even in the context of the ongoing El Nino."

A clear upward trend in temperature has been observed since around 1950, so take that you snowball throwing senator.
