Video shows Brazilian anaconda being split open after swallowing an entire pit bull
  • 8 years ago
SAO PAULO — Anacondas don't kill their prey by delivering venom through a bite like venomous snakes do.

They are constrictors, therefore they act by wrapping their bodies around their victim, squeezing it until the prey stops breathing, then they swallow it.

They can open their mouths wide enough to swallow even a jaguar or a small deer.

And this is precisely what happens to the pit bull shown in this video.

After the pooch was killed and swallowed by this huge anaconda, a man — perhaps the dog's owner — splits the snake open so that the dog can be released.

Needless to say, it was too late to save the pit bull.
