It was a difficult week for pop culture fans as two distinct personalities who entertained them for decades David Bowie and Alan Rickman both passed away without any public forewarning.
Both men had come up in the same British arts scene; both died of cancer at the age of 69.
Now, in a truth-is-stranger-than-fiction coincidence, the town of Springfield is showing that it mourns alongside England, the U.S. and the rest of the world.
As is turns out, three years ago the program aired a clip from a spoof movie — which just happened to reference both of the recently-departed stars.
