Since the 1970s, the overall age at which American women become mothers for the first time has been rising, and a recent study on the matter shows that trend is still going strong.

Since the 1970s, the overall age at which American women become mothers for the first time has been rising, and a recent study on the matter shows that trend is still going strong. 
A report compiled by the the National Center for Heath Statistics and CDC released on Thursday reveals the mean age for first births in 2014 was 26.4 years. That is up 1.4 years from the average calculated in 2000. 
Though all ethnicities and races experienced increases, the ages themselves varied greatly
