Pope Francis has called for Roman Catholic leaders to be “compassionate shepherds to a wounded humanity”. The message comes in the publication of a book called” “The Name of God is Mercy”.”:http://www.newyorker.com/news/news-desk/with-his-new-book-pope-francis-unlocks-the-door

Written by Italian journalist Andrea Tornielli, it’s based on an interview with the Pope, setting out themes close to his heart including his often-quoted “Who am I to judge?” statement about homosexuals, saying that “people should not be defined only by their sexual identities.”

The book is the Pope’s first aimed at a general readership and is written in a light style with numerous anecdotes.

The release of the question-and-answer book coincides with the Jubilee Year of Mercy, during which the world’s 1.2 billion Roman Catholics are called on to seek forgiveness and forgive.
