Geeky Hot Showstopper Prachi Desai

Prachi Desai wore an ecru sari with colorful plaid borders and a belly baring long sleeved choli as showstopper for Shruti Sancheti at Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2013 in Mumbai on Monday, March 25.
"The collection was based on swadeshi movement and the period was 110 years ago. It was the first organized movement towards Independence and aimed at revival of Indian handlooms and also restoration of pride of oppressed Indians. This collection is produced under Maharashtra state handloom board."
"The geeky look complete with specs and two braids was a tribute to the feisty woman of that era who took part in the freedom movement."
Shruti's collection featured finely woven cotton with interesting checks and stripes in English hues to recreate the colonial flavor. Embellishments comprised Kantha with lavish surface ornamentation. The trendy asymmetric silhouettes added to the patriotic look.
The collection has something for everyone, a perfect choice whether by the beach/pool, out on the town, or just a girlfriend gathering on a rooftop.
The range includes draped sun dresses with plaid covers, machined waistcoats paired with maxis, shorts under wrap skirts with puff sleeved blouses and pleated gathered skirt with halter tops as holiday attire.
Wide cowl pants, asymmetrical sack dresses, two saris with embroidered cholis and the colored blouses added to the versatility of the range.
