Singer Mansi Scott In Moroccan Style Aesthetics
  • 8 years ago
Mumbai, Mar 26 (IBNS) Designer Swati Vijaivargie Jain on Monday presented a gorgeous range called "Mystery to Unfold" at the Talent Box during Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) for her Summer Resort 2013 collection.
Inspired by Morocco with its colours, celebrations and especially the festival of roses in particular, this line showcased dresses, kaftans, dhoti pants, trousers, skirts, scarves, jackets and tunics.
Fabrics such as flat chiffon, georgette, Chanderi, lightweight silk and mulmul made their way onto the ramp in a vast spectrum of shades with a monochrome base.
Pops of colours such as pink, blue, yellow, peach and green surfaced to add a tropically kissed hue while grey black and white were the neutral offering.
Unique layered mirror pieces and folded rose petals were the highlight of the collection.
The designer kept her range comfortable to wear and light with minimal embellishments, using only the occasional sequins along with tie-n-dye methods, leheriya, Shibori designs, motada, colour blocking and used birds and geometry to flesh out each form.
The showstopper was singer Mansi Scott in a sari fusing together Indian tradition with Moroccan style aesthetics.
