White House Responds to 'Making a Murderer' Petition
  • 8 years ago
"Making a Murderer" fans are taking their complaints all the way to the top.
The good news is that the White House responded to a petition to pardon Steven Avery and his cousin, Brendan Dassey, for their accused involvement in the murder of Teresa Halbach.
The petition was published Dec. 20, 2015, just two days after the show's Netflix premiere.
The White House response went on to say what power the President does hold, and that it doesn't include pardoning a state criminal offense.
While this one is a dud for "Making a Murderer" fans, the White House pointed out the President Obama has issued 66 pardons during his time in office.
