Argentina Public Workers on Strike

In the first nationwide strike during the new presidential administration of Mauricio Macri, public sector workers are demanding a US$380 year-end bonus, job security, and the reopening of collective bargaining negotiations. Macri issued a decree instructing ministries to review their respective collective bargaining agreements, provoking a strong response from the unions. Thousands of workers marched on the Labor Ministry and declared they would remain on a state of alert, ready to mobilize in defense of their rights. Leonel Poblete reports from Buenos Aires. teleSUR
