Minnesota woman bites off husband's ear following argument over beer

ST. CLOUD, MINNESOTA — A Minnesota woman was arrested last week and charged with felony assault after allegedly biting her husband's ear off following a drunken argument, according to a report by the Smoking Gun.
When St. Cloud police were called to Jamie Elrod's home on December 18th, they arrived to what they described as a bloody scene.
The officers found blood splattered over the walls of the couple's bedroom before stumbling upon a chunk of Elrod's husband's right ear lying on the ground.
While Elrod initially denied having any knowledge of how her husband's ear came off, authorities later discovered that Elrod, who'd been drinking and had apparently gotten into a bit of an argument with her husband over beer, had bitten it off.
In a phone call to her mother, the 37-year-old reportedly later admitted to having "ripped his ear off," according to the Smoking Gun report, citing police documents.
Elrod's since been released on $30,000 bail, but faces up to 20 years in prison for her alleged actions.
