Trumped? British Muslim family barred from boarding plane to Disneyland

LONDON — Last week, Mohammad Tariq Mahmood and his family of 11 were barred from boarding a plane to Los Angeles from Gatwick Airport outside London, and were not offered an explanation as to why. The family was on its way to Disneyland.
On December 15, Mahmood, his brother, his brother's wife, and eight of their brood were waiting at the gate to board their plane to Los Angeles. They had already checked their bags in, and were in line when an agent at the desk asked to see their passports. Having already got their ESTA travel permits approved, they were puzzled as to what the problem could be. When the agent returned, he told them they would not be allowed to board the plane.
When they asked for a valid reason as to why they were being blocked from the flight, the agent said that Washington called and shut down their travel plans to the United States for an undisclosed reason. Mahmood told reporters he believes his family has been "Trumped," pointing to anti-Islamic tensions in the air after the Republican Presidential candidate proposed to ban muslims from entering the US.
Norwegian Airlines has told the family they wouldn't be getting their tickets refunded, a total close to $13,500. They were also ordered to return all their duty free items on the way out of the airport.
CNN reports that the issue stems from an email address listed on the UK electoral roll that links to what appears to be a joke Facebook page for an 18-year-old Birmingham resident named Hamza Mahmood, who lists his occupation as "Supervisor at Taliban" and "Leader at al-Qaeda."
The information on the account suggests it was published by someone with the same name as Mahmood's 18-year-old son. Mahmood says it's a mix-up, and claims his son's name is of a different spelling.
