Ten million tried to snap up Adele U.S. tour tickets

Around 10 million fans fought to buy tickets for Adele's U.S. tou r even though there were only 750,000 seats available.
Editors at Huffington Post report that only 750,000 tickets were available for the entire U.S. tour, but 10 million fans logged onto to Ticketmaster's website in an attempt to secure places at the long-awaited gigs.
Jared Smith, president of Ticketmaster North America, thanked staff for their efforts in keeping the site up and running while a record number of users logged on to get the tickets.
"Thanks to your efforts - even with what I'm told was easily an all-time record of 10 million + fans rushing to our site - we delivered a good experience for as many fans as possible," he wrote in a memo obtained by the Huffington Post.
