Models in France will have to prove their health by getting a doctor to attest that their body mass index--assessed within the context of their age, weight, and frame--is in line with professional standards; a law requiring certain edited photos to be labelled as such has also been passed.
Certain members of the fashion industry in France will be making some changes, thanks to lawmakers.
A bill has been passed that requires models to confirm their health by getting a certificate from a doctor confirming that their body mass index, or BMI, is “compatible with the practice of the (modelling) profession.”
