Palestinians Demand Return of Bodies of Those Slain in Uprising
  • 8 years ago
Dozens of Palestinians marched to the United Nations headquarters in Gaza on Tuesday to demand that UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon pressure Israel to return the bodies of 51 Palestinians killed in the current uprising that began in October. According to Israeli sources, Tel Aviv may bury the Palestinian bodies in one of its “cemeteries of numbers,” which are closed military areas that neither the relatives of those killed nor human rights activists can enter, in clear violation of the Fourth Geneva Convention. Marchers charged that withholding the bodies is a clear violation of international law. Noor Harazeen reports from Gaza for teleSUR.
