Colombia: Remains of Disappeared to be Delivered at Special Ceremony

A special ceremony will be held in Villavicencio, Colombia in which the remains of 29 of the country's more than 45,000 forcibly disappeared persons, victims of the armed conflict, will be delivered to their families. The ceremony has symbolic significance, due to the human aspect of allowing closure for the victims' families as well as for being a political gesture indicating a commitment to search for the disappeared, as agreed to in the agreement announced Tuesday during the Havana peace talks.
