Argentina: Macri Lifts Currency Controls, Devalues Peso
  • 8 years ago
Newly elected right-wing Argentine President Mauricio Macri continues with measures to introduce neoliberal economic reforms. Yesterday, Macri announced that several currency controls would be lifted, with which the peso's value will be determined by the international foreign exchange market. He also announced a devaluation of the peso, which despite governnment denials, is widely expected to lead to further across-the-board price increases. teleSUR
