Study Links Serving As A National Leader With Shorter Lifespan

A new study published in The BMJ, a medical journal, suggests heads of state may have a shorter lifespan than those who ran but didn’t emerge as victors.

National leaders, such as US Presidents, have been known to rapidly grow greyer and more wrinkled during their time in office.

A new study published in the BMJ, a medical journal, suggests heads of state may have a shorter lifespan, as well. 

The researchers determined the decrease in longevity is roughly 2.7 years as compared to individuals who ran for high offices, but didn’t emerge as victors.
