Venezuela: Maduro Warns That Opposition Threatens Social Gains
  • 8 years ago
In a ceremony with military officials, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro warned that the right-wing opposition, which comfortably won last Sunday's legislative elections, will seek to overturn progressive laws and social missions and programs that benefit the poor and working class. He added that the opposition will also attempt to privatize companies like the PDVSA, the state-owned oil giant. Maduro said he would not allow such social gains to be rolled back. teleSUR
