Unilever CEO: 'We need business to step up to the plate' on climate change
  • 8 years ago
Paul Polman is the CEO of Unilever, a multinational consumer goods company. He spoke to FRANCE 24 at the COP21 climate conference in Paris, where 195 nations are trying to forge an agreement to limit global warming to 2°C. Polman received the UN Champions of the Earth Award in 2015 and believes big companies have a role to play in sustainable development and in fighting climate change.
“We need financing [for developing countries] and obviously we need business to step up to the plate as well. It would be naive to think that governments alone can do it, so we all have a role to play", he told FRANCE 24's Stéphanie Antoine.
