Subhiksha, who made her debut in Malayalam with the Fahad Fazil-starrer 'Olipporu' will be seen in 'Kanthari', directed by Ajmal. She essays the role of Sultana, a modern Muslim girl who hails from an orthodox family. Subhiksha is paired opposite Sekhar Menon aka DJ Sekhar (who became famous in Mollywood as the star of 'Da Thadiya'), whose character Amir Hussain owns a coffee shop in the city. The film attempts to highlight the nightlife of Kochi and show what happens after dark. Rachana Narayankutty has been cast as the other female lead in this flick.
