USA: San Bernadino Shooting Highlights Gun Safety Issue
  • 8 years ago
As more details of the shooting in San Bernadino, California, are revealed, citizens continue to ask for action on gun safety laws in a nation where 31% of the world’s mass shootings take place. In San Bernadino 14 people were killed and 21 were injured. This is the largest number of victims in a mass shooting since 2012. It is the first with more than one shooter since the Columbine shooing in 1999. President Barack Obama called on federal and state lawmakers to take action. Many citizens cite extensive National Rifle Association (NRA) campaign funding as the main obstacle to adequate gun laws. Bianca Perez reports from Washington DC for teleSUR
