ALBA Bloc Presents Environmental Proposals at COP21
  • 8 years ago
The Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America (ALBA), the bloc of progressive Latin American governments, presented its own environmental proposals to the COP21 Climate Change summit in Paris. The main planks in ALBA's agenda include curbing the growth in global temperature to 1.5°C instead of the proposed 2°, requiring polluter countries to pay their historic debt and finally compensate developing nations for the effects of climate change, and ensuring national sovereignty over resources.
