Political Awareness Strong in Argentina Despite Macri's Victory

Despite the narrow victory two weeks ago of neoliberal standard bearer Mauricio Macri in Argentina's presidential elections, 12 years of rule by the left-of-center Front for Victory (FpV) has had an enduring legacy in terms of the consciousness and political activism of broad sectors of the population. Such awareness and activism aimed at defending recent social gains could pose major problems for the stability of Macri's government and his policies.
