The number of new diabetes diagnoses has been mounting since the 1980s, but the latest CDC report on the matter shows promise. 
For the first time in 25 years, the number of adults aged 18-79 years, developing the disease has shown a steady, continued decline. 
Between 2008 and 2014, initial occurrences have dropped from 1.7 million to 1.4 million.
