Brasil: Cunha Agrees to Open Impeachment Process against Rousseff
  • 8 years ago
The Speaker of Brazil’s Lower House Eduardo Cunha has agreed to open impeachment processes against President Dilma Rousseff. She is accused of mishandling government accounts. Cunha himself also faces corruption charges. According to Political Science Professor Jao Feres, a number of steps must be taken for the process to go through. If the process succeeds and is accepted in a congressional vote, the President will be removed from office and the Vice President will become President. Feres says that despite media manipulation, he doesn’t see a lot of support for the process. teleSUR
