Six new cases of HIV are diagnosed daily in Bolivia. Youth are most at risk as most do not use condoms. Almost all cases of HIV infection result from unprotected sex. The country also has a high teenage pregnancy rate, which increases the risk of HIV infection. For World AIDS Day, December 1, educational awareness campaigns were organized nationwide to promote the use of condoms and authorities seek to increase attention for those testing HIV+.
