Bald eagle caught in fur trap rescued by two Canadian brothers out hunting
  • 8 years ago
WINDY LAKE, ONTARIO, CANADA — Out searching for grouse birds to hunt in the forest, a couple of Canadian brothers stumbled upon bald eagle instead. By Windy Lake, Ontario with their dog, Michael and Neil Fletcher were driving in their truck when they saw something up ahead of them. Following the tire tracks and animal tracks in the snow, they found an eagle, flapping its wings, unable to fly. The eagle's talon was caught in a fur trap, and though it tried desperately to escape, its attempts were in vain. The two brothers quickly debated over whether they should call for help, but instead they quite literally took matters into their own hands. One of the brothers cloaked the eagle in a sweater, while the other figured out the trap release mechanism with a stick. Once they were able to open the trap, the eagle was free. After making sure the bird wasn't injured or bleeding, the heroes used the rare opportunity for a photo opp with their new feathered friend, and sent the majestic bird on its way, back to the sky.
